Brian Joesten Installed As President of The Friends of Mercy Medical Center |

Mr. Joesten, a business manager with Verizon Communications, has been a fervent supporter of Mercy Medical Center and served as Vice-President of The Friends in 2009. He has been a member of the group since 2005, was nominated to the Executive Board in 2007, served on numerous committees, and co-chaired An active member of the St. Agnes Cathedral parish for the past 14 years, Mr. Joesten has served many times on both the parish Party and Gala committees. With a particular interest in Catholic education, he was President of the St. Agnes Father's Club from 1999-2000, and re-established and served as President of the Sacred Heart Academy's Father's Club from 2005-2008. The Friends of Mercy was founded in 1935 as an organization of men dedicated to volunteering their time and efforts to raise funds for the advancement of medical and surgical care for the patients of Mercy Medical Center as well as construction at Mercy. The Friends raise funds by sponsoring three major events each year - a Gentlemen's St. Patrick's Dinner, being held this year on Thursday, March 11th; a Golf Outing to be held this year on Monday, July 26th; and The Mercy Ball held each year on the first Saturday in December. (January 29, 2010 - Rockville Centre, NY) Brian Joesten has been installed as the 2010 President of The Friends of Mercy Medical Center. The long-time Rockville Centre resident accepted a small bust of Theodore Roosevelt that signifies leadership of the organization in a January 27th ceremony at the Hempstead Golf and Country Club.
