(February 26, 2010 - Rockville Centre, NY) David Mandel has joined Mercy Medical Center as Director of Medical Staff Affairs.

Mr. Mandel, who resides in Floral Park, comes to Mercy from Montefiore Medical Center in The Bronx where he served as Manager of Practitioner Credentialing.

Prior to joining Montefiore, he headed the central medical credentialing office for the North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System. Earlier in his career Mr. Mandel spent more than a decade in managed care.

Mr. Mandel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Queens College and is a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). He is a member of the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) and serves on the educational committee of the New York State Association of Medical Staff Services (NYSAMSS).
